Gum-Gum, 24 July 2025 — The Seafood Processing Course organised by the Sabah Women's Affairs Department (JHEWA) successfully concluded after three days at the N.50 Gum-Gum Community Hall. Held from 22 to 24 July 2025, it attracted 27 participants from the local target community who were keen to develop knowledge and skills in seafood processing.
During the course, held from 8 am to 2 pm, participants attended practical and theoretical modules on safe, hygienic and competitive seafood processing techniques. The programme aimed to improve local knowledge and skills so that communities can produce high-quality seafood products with wider marketing potential.
JHEWA congratulates all participants for their enthusiasm and commitment throughout the course. The department hopes the knowledge gained will provide lasting benefits and help increase local incomes.
Participants welcomed the course and expressed satisfaction with the new knowledge and opportunities to interact directly with seafood processing experts. The organisers plan further training to strengthen the community's economy and promote local seafood products more widely.
Through this achievement, JHEWA has again demonstrated its commitment to women's development in particular, and society generally, through continuing training and education.
