MPWS AND JHEWA'S STRONG COMMITMENT TO EMPOWERING SABAH WOMEN
KOTA KINABALU | 16 June 2025: The Engagement with Sabah's Women Leaders programme held at SICC demonstrated the new Sabah Women's Advisory Council (MPWS) leadership's commitment to advancing women's voices.
In her address, MPWS Chairperson Datuk Dr Hajah Rosmawati Lasuki said this was the inaugural initiative under the council's new executive committee.
She announced that this was Phase 1 of a wider programme, to be followed by Phase 2 in July and the Sabah Women's Symposium in August.
Datuk Rosmawati also said MPWS fully supported the Chief Minister's call for systematic empowerment of women, particularly in education, the economy and leadership.
The programme was fully supported by the Sabah Women's Affairs Department (JHEWA), led by Director Puan Hajah Haslina Hj Ismail.
The MPWS executive committee and JHEWA implementation team played important roles in the programme, which brought together more than 1,000 women from various sectors throughout Sabah.
